Princess Rescue X

Hello everyone. This is my first Episode I posted here. It is a remake of the Atari 2600 homebrew "Princess Rescue." If there is anything I should improve on in the future please let me know.

A few things to note:
  • If you are playing the game via the program Wine on Linux or WineBottler on Mac, you may experience a runtime error, due to there being so many custom graphics.
    LunaLua and/or LunaDLL is NOT required for this episode.
    In case you are wondering, I edited the levels in SMBX and the world map in PGE.
    The Super Mario World Mario graphics do NOT come with the episode.

So far I made 4 updates to the episode. Here are the changes:

v5 Changes:
  • Modified the credits.
    Changed the music at the Bowser Jr. battle sections to the SMB1 Bowser Battle theme(Not the one in the last battle).
    Changed the music in the section with Peach to the SMB1 ending theme.
    Changed the graphics for the Toads in the introduction level to SMB1 Toads.
    Changed the castles in the introduction level to mushroom houses, since they are supposed to be the Toads' homes.

v4 Changes:
  • Moved the SMB1 Castle closer to the flagpole goal.
    Replaced every SMB3 sprite used with the SMB1 sprite.
    Moved Princess Peach closer to the center of Section 3 of the last level.

v3 Changes:
  • Added invisible SMB1 axes that trigger an event of the springboards showing(since the springboard appeared when Mario goes near where it would show up in Princess Rescue)
    Changed the snow tiles on world 3 to grass tiles and the music to the music of World 7 from Super Mario Bros. 3
    Made the player come out of the warp pipe to the left in every warp level.

v2 Changes:
  • Made the warp to the next section of World 3-3 easier to get to by adding invisible SMB1 axes that trigger an event of Lakitu hiding
    Added warp levels that transport you to the next world.
    I'm not sure if I left any saved data files in there, but those are gone now.

Looks creative... but...

It's the all actual levels of this episode from Princess Rescue? Or you improved a bit?

Also, i don't think that you could tell that this is inspired by Princess Rescue because it's a ripoff of the original Super Mario Bros. So, if you came without that info, i could think that was inspired in the original Super Mario Bros.

Anyway, i will be picking that episode later.

Yes it was inspired by it but Nintendo ended it with a C&D

Thanks for your response. I made the episode based on Super Mario Bros. because the original game was based on it with the same music. The levels are pretty close to Princess Rescue, but I did improve them. In Princess Rescue, the flagpole was shorter than it was in the original Super Mario Bros. Also the castles had the underground theme. I made the flagpole closer to the height of the original and the castle theme was used in the castles instead of the underground theme.

I honestly haven't watched the trailer yet, but could you please change the spinies to SMB1 because the Lakitu (and the rest) is SMB1?

I did your request. I also moved every SMB1 castle closer to the flag, changed the SMB3 buzzy beetles and Peach to their SMB1 sprites. ;)
