There have seemed to be a lot of questions regarding this lately so I made an extensive topic about it.
Method 1 (Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008)
- Click on the "Organize" drop-down menu.
- Click on "Folder and search options".
- Enter the "View" tab by clicking on it.
- Uncheck the box entitled "Hide extensions for known file types".
- Click "OK" to confirm your changes and exit the menu.
- Right click on a text file.
- Click "Rename".
- Rename "txt" to "lua".
- An alert may come up noting that changing a file extension may cause the file to become unstable. If so, click "OK" to continue.
Method 2 (Windows 10)
- Expand the Ribbon Bar if it is not yet expanded.
- Enter the "View" tab by clicking on it.
- Check the entitled "File name extensions".
- Right click on a text file.
- Click "Rename".
- Rename "txt" to "lua".
- An alert may come up noting that changing a file extension may cause the file to become unstable. If so, click "OK" to continue.
Method 3 (Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003)
- Click on the "Tools" drop-down menu.
- Click on "Folder Options".
Method 4 (Mac OS)
- Right click on the text file (or CTRL+CLICK).
- Click "Get Info".
- Enter the "Name and Extension" tab by clicking on it if it isn't open by default.
- If there is a checkmark in the box entitled "Hide extension" uncheck it.
- Rename "txt" to "lua".
Method 5 (Universal)

No, it's fine. It won't infect your computer.

Well, this was supposed to be a serious thread since I've answered at least three questions regarding how to make a .lua file in the last week. I spent time putting it together and it would be nice if everyone could either contribute in a serious manner or not post at all

Yes, I am serious. So do you mean I should put codes in the .lua file?
Sorry PixelPest, I'm new to LunaLua.

Method 6 (Notepad++)
1. Open Notepad++
2. Click 'save' button in the file bar or the image
3. Name it 'lunadll.lua', etc.
4. Click 'save' to create your .lua file :D

If you have PGE, you can go to Tools->Application Settings, then hit "Associate file extensions." Now, when you go to create a new file, "SMBX Level File" should be an option.

Ok, good. For a minute I was genuinely worried about your intelligence level.
