Blasphemy! How dare you both! My respect for y'all just went down a major amount.

Also, Valterri, while AM2R's soundtrack is not perfect, how can you say that it's organic, atmospheric tracks should have sounded more like your electronic beep-boops? M2/AM2R takes place on a world dominated by nature, so why in the heck do you use so many artificial-sounding instruments for your tracks?

thanks! wish a different file system was used, like media file or something. a little faster since popups are not allowed on the site, so it takes longer

Using rpgmaker.net for two purposes. I like keeping track of the amount of downloads (read: ego boost), and also there are many players who don't read this forum and only browse that particular site. It's easier to keep the download in one place in case I need to do bug fixes or other updates.

The story of this sequel has some references to the original episode, but playing through it is definitely not required. Have fun in any case though. :)

How is the last level in oceanbed supposed to be beaten? I know how to press the green switch but the red switch needs to be pressed again after i collect the last coin, but i already had to use the mushroom block for pressing it once and you cant re-use it.

Is this also supported in SMBX Lunalua (1.3.0.2)? By the way, this is one of the most fantastic episodes to play! (using sendauir's gfx packs), can't wait!

You are supposed to use the shell for pressing the red switch the first time. Then after collecting the coin you need to press the red switch with the mushroom block. That's why I added the NPC who tells you that mushroom blocks are stronger than shells. :)

EDIT: I don't know why I wrote "red shell". The shell is blue.

Technically yes, but you should at least update your LunaLua to the latest build. The episode has only been properly tested on SMBX beta 3 and that's why it's the recommended engine to use.

During Beta testing, I did not use the red shell to hit that switch...

The hole is now much more narrow and you can not re-grab the mushroob block if it's up there.

I guess that is what you meant by the videos helping a lot.

Are you going to plan another project, or just on hiatus?

Definitely on hiatus at least for a few months. I'll see how the SMBX 2.0 development goes and decide on the next project then.

I will never do a project with just one screen levels again though. The ideas for that have now been exhausted.

I like to congratulate on finishing your nice project and turn it into a full episode. ^^

You sure worked hard onto it, since you finished it even before november. I would play it by now, but I first need to wait for SMBX 2.0 to get out of it's beta phase, since I dislike .lua bugs to breakfast. ;-)
But once I get it, I like to play your fine episode, since I think I may learn a lot from it.
Too bad that not many people are like you, starting and actually finishing their projects. :-/

In any case, I wish you a good succsess with your episode and that many people will play it. :-)

Well, scores are undisplayed altogether in this one.

Just asking beforehand, is there any level where counting your score manually is definitely not possible? (like, in the prequel, the jungle room with 5 tiny rows of spinies being shot out of pipes)

Still using the legacy editor? Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why. And remember, Yoshi's are tools to be used and discarded.

Beta 3 has next to no bugs and it's really only called Beta because a few features the devs plan to implement aren't fully there yet (like a bigger NPC array). This is pretty much as bug-free as a full release and has been heavily tested.

Thanks! Most likely this project would never have happened if it was not for your graphics.

If there are any lua bugs, that is on me. :) As Spinda said, Beta 3 plays pretty much perfectly when using the default characters and you can only play with those in this episode. The game has been playtested several times from beginning to the end and there should be no error messages.

My secret to finishing episodes is not introducing them until they are at least 50% complete. :p

There should not be any "spammy" levels like that, but I can't really guarantee that you can manually count the score in every level. I personally think scores don't matter in Mario games and in a puzzle game like this, even less. That is why they are not shown.

Hello. Last time I played SMBX was about 3 years ago and I decided that this would be my first SMBX 2.0 episode to play. I'm not disappointed so far :D

I've played until Desolation 2 so far. This episode seems really really great, but I hope it doesn't get too hard for me. I like the idea of the single-screen puzzle levels. This episode is also generally really professional. It feels like a real game.

Now I have 2 questions though. You are saying there are 109 Levels. Is that only 109 "screens" or is one level of multiple screens considered one "level"? Secondly, in Desolation 2 there was a bossfight, but when I died to the boss I started one room back. Why can't I restart at the boss? You could make the boss it's own room. Is that a trend in this episode? The screen that I had to play over and over was at least easy, but if this happens with harder screens I have to redo, this can become a problem.
Check out my levels!

The bosses are for the most part just part of the level. And 109 is 109 screens. It does get quite tough; it's not a good starter episode per se
