So just have it be a contest that is going to happen anyway doesn't really make it feel like an anniversary contest unless you plan on making that years random level name generations based on the ten years of SMBX history referencing the great many things that have happened over the years in the community.

The original SMBX editor is limited, but not to the point where we couldn't have a content with it...it's quite a fitting idea imo

if I were asked to make a 1.3-compatible level I would still use PGE to make it, bruh

Still using the legacy editor? Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why.

Why not go even more vanilla and use older versions, huh? Having a vanilla contest sounds boring, I would prefer to have a contest in beta 4 instead.

Like the ones in SMBX Contest Greatest Hits, they are very nice, and I think they are made with SMBX 2.0, I'm not sure... (at least with LunaLua)

Yeah, I am sure using an objectively terrible editor is a great way to celebrate SMBX's 10th anniversary.

I just tried SMBX 1.0 editor a few time ago and has a lot of bugs, it's very unstable, so it would be in Beta 3 or maybe Beta 4 if it's released before

Actually a lot of those levels were made in the original SMBX mostly because Lunalua didn't exist at the time. Even the very first MAGLX was in SMBX 1.3.0.1 because Lunalua didn't exist at the time so doing a contest in 1.3.0.1 wouldn't be a terrible idea and would be a reminder of what things were like before Lunalua. Looking at when the first version of SMBX was release on MFGG it was on July 9th 2009 so there is lots of time to decide on this before we reach that date and I have doubts that beta 4 will be finished by then.

  • Make a special SMBX episode featuring some of the masterpiece custom levels from 2009 to now
  • Host a community contest on the 10th birthday
  • Other*
