This is so far my first project I am creating on smbx2 and things have changed a lot with this episode regarding the plot,characters,powerups,and levels. Which have all been altered since this post. It now contains updated information and screenshots of how this episode will turn out. I hope you all will enjoy it once its finally completed!

STORY:

Mario,Luigi and toad has received invitations to the princess’s castle over for a royal dinner. They then race straight to the castle only to find out the princess hasn't returned for hours! They then hear cries for help outside in the stormy fields To find out bowser is up to no good once again. They fail to rescue peach after fighting Jr and bowser leaving their last resort to race across the kingdom to defeat him. But bowser and his koopalings have new weapons up their shells ready to destroy mario for good. Its revealed bowser and his koopa troop has stolen the legendary golden elements and bowser gave each one of them to the koopalings,jr and kamek with bowser himself wielding the most destructive element. The elements are said to have mysterious powers and unique properties that could be used for good or evil and its obvious bowser is using them for rotten plans. However were did he find these powerful mac guffins,who created them? Mario and friends will venture through this episode as they find the secrets behind the elements and how bowser stole them. Mario and co will have to face new challenges along with meeting past friends,foes and other cranky villains waiting for revenge.

As smbx2 is in beta4 ive been seeing that people are making custom power ups that don't replace the base game power ups. Unfortunately its now unknown how much new power ups are going to be in this game. However here are the guaranteed ones

Yoshis

Yoshis can be obtained by searching through certain levels,going to yoshi houses on the world map,feeding baby yoshi's or obtaining one in a bonus game. sadly like in smw, Yoshis and other mounts are forbidden in castles and ghost houses. However...

This is a yoshi keeper! He will await outside ghost houses,castles and other areas that don't allow yoshi and keep yours safe until you reach the end of the level! simply dismount yoshi next to him and away from danger and you’re set!

3:Kingdom capital(industrial themed)
4: Delta beach(water/beach themed)
5: Frenzy forest(forest/industrial/giant theme)
6: colossal canyons(mountain themed)
7: frosty peaks(iced themed)
8: pipe plaza(pipe world)
9: sky panic(sky/athletic themed)
10: dessert island:(food themed)
Final world: Bowser's badlands:(volcanic,mountain themed)
Now for some extras and basic information

Extra/mini worlds

ghost valley
yoshi's island
isle delfino
cosmic mountains
outer space+true final boss.
twinkle island+true TRUE final boss(must be beaten to complete the game).

What are Extra/mini worlds?
These are small extra worlds with short levels that contain stars at the end of the level which are needed to unlock the true TRUE final boss/best conclusion. Twinkle island is a different case as it functions as a hub for special levels.
Star system/twinkle island:

Twinkle island is a hub world that contains special levels based on alternate versions of levels from previous worlds. changing appearance and difficulty. They are said to be places from alternate realities of mario's world. They can be unlocked by obtaining stars. Stars can be obtained by doing task for npcs,defeating bosses,finding secret areas and getting the final golden element. With all the stars obtained you can unlock the true TRUE final boss of the game. Defeating him will fully conclude the plot of this episode.
Star coins and dragon coins:

These are optional collectibles. collecting 5 dragon coins gives you a 1-up but star coins don't really have any significance as Far as I know. They are still fun collectibles anyways
switch palaces:

the switch palaces from super mario world is back. Hitting one will result in certain block outlines to be filled up in levels making it easier to maneuver in and you are able to access unreachable areas. They sometimes rarely contain power ups. yellow for mega mushrooms,red for fire flowers,blue for ice flowers,and green for goomba shoes!
The super smash squad:

This is a team consisting of link,pikachu and "kirby" as they will help you on your journey. In the plot after you get ambushed by bowser you and the squad decide to split up around the mushroom kingdom to reach bowser. Link and pikachu decides to partner up while you are stuck with kirby. In this game kirby acts pretty....odd and weird throught the entire game and maybe even giving you the creeps or straight up annoying you. Of course this is heavily based off of how he was portrayed in talking time bros if you are familiar with that episode.

The koopa bros:

These trouble making ninja turtles want revenge on mario after they got kicked out of there fortress by him. They'll give mario a hard time progressing through this game as they will act as mini bosses coming out of nowhere in some levels.

Yes this is a pretty large and ambitious project im working on. More info of this episode will be updated occasionally. other than that I hope you guys are excited for this episode even though its my first attempt at one. So please give some feedback if you can. What to expect from this episode?
Well to start it off; most of the levels are smb3,custom or smw orientated, though there will be the occasional smb1/smb2 level. The difficulty in this episode is intermediate to difficult. The last few worlds and bosses are going to be pretty brutal but nothing as terrible,unfair and unplayable as kazio levels. This episode is pretty large and has a good amount of replay value with star coins and dragon coins being optional collectibles along with secret levels and areas. But like said, Power stars are required to fully conclude the episode as they are needed to unlock the second true final boss.

Wow this episode looks pretty good. I’d like to see how you will execute wario’s gameplay In this episode. The screenshots are pretty great too.

When I read about it I was not sure I would get into it but then came the screen shots and some of the levels look nicely done. Looks promising. Good job.

Is that the only world map you have so far? The map seems bare of scenary but maybe that's on purpose?

Don’t worry everyone, the project is still being worked on. I just had a couple of other things I had to deal with outside of this. It’s still on hiatus but I will get back to working on it pretty soon.

I have a chunk of the world map done but it’s still unfinished. That also explains the lack of scenary. Thanks for the feedback. Sorry I didn’t have enough time to read this before. More screenshots of the world map will be posted soon but for now I’m focusing on creating levels.

I have about 67 levels finished. I need to create at least 5 to 7 levels for each world. 3-4 for mini worlds and 14 for the special world. But I’m not comepletely sure how much levels are going to be made by the time the episode will be finished until I do the math but I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a lot. So far 45 of them are comeplete and the rest are WIP.

New update. I’m completely overhauling,editing and recreating the beginning of the game. I’m aiming to make a cutscene intro and whole lot of other epic stuff when the game starts. Once beta 4 gets released sometime this month (as from what I heard) a complete demo will be released! One or two worlds are planning to be fully playable when the demo is released. This is slowing down the creation of the episode by a lot but I’m trying to aim for the best. Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!

Glad to hear a demo is coming out soon. But I think this episode could use a better episode banner. Hell it doesn’t even have a support banner either. I can help make a better one if you want too. Just PM me all the stuff you want in it. I think this project could be more recognized and interesting if the banners could be improved more.

When I was reading "OVERHAUL" I was being afraid of witnessing another pointless redesign when the levels are already looking good or very good.

The existing levels are going to last but a couple of them are getting redesigned due to complicated reasons. But trust me it’s going to be actually beneficial and even better. It’s mostly going to be revamped boss fights,sloppy areas,bad graphics,and events
