Granted it's a very long level; it was even more difficult in its original CC2 version.
Now I've arrived to Battleship Destroyer. I read all the tactics on the quoted post; but wait where is the green switch actually located? It wouldn't be bad if you send me a screenshot of that section.

Green switch is in the bottom right corner. As I said, hold an iceblock to protect yourself against the fast big balls. Remember the ice flower location so you don't hit it until needed.

Damn, this level is quite long. I absolutely had to check bossedit8's longplay first, in order to be able at clearing it.

I had made it. I beaten Strange Fortress too (with Peach) and now I am in the Speedy Airships level. Apart from the fact the autoscrolling is way too fast *argh* the real problem is the boss at the end. How many Goombas do I have to kill before I can win!?

I'mma give you assistance for the level structure and the three bosses so you know them beforehand.

First you gotta beat some switch-key-puzzle. You have to backtrack several times to hit the switches and grab the keys in right order. Go the bottom right route first. Use crouching techniques to pass the flamestatues and rotodiscs.

Next there's a bit more jumping, and then there are two rooms with a red and blue switch. One room requires you to be Mario or Luigi, the other requires you to be Peach or Toad. I recommend to choose Toad and grab the leaf (if Toad is not equipped with a hammer/tanooki anyway) so you can double-jump, but return to Mario/Luigi to make the 2nd boss easier.

After that, there's a room with eight red coins scattered around. Then there's the checkpoint and the three bosses.

First one (Bowser Jr) is a simple Ludwig. After that you get an Ice flower.
Second one is an SMB1 Bowser in SMB3 form. Your projectiles are behind him so if you don't have a hammer, you gotta get past him once. As Mario or Luigi you can just grab a blue stone and hold it into Bowser to get 4 quick hits.
Last boss is a common SMB3 Bowser who needs to be hurled down 4 rows in the middle of the screen. This is easily doable even if you're small.

The part with the green switch block because it features various tricks that unnerve me. When I get to a specific ladder point, I suddenly return to the beginning of the course for no reason!

This is not "for no reason", this is quite the gimmick of that section. Multi-corridors with only one correct path to go have been a commonplace occurrence ever since SMB1. (I got to know it first in NSMBWii World 2 Castle).

The green switch section is even trickier because you have to take back-and-forth paths that are only revealed through tedious trial-and-error.

Inside the editor, you can see all the instant warps that send you back to the beginning. I marked the correct routes for you.

You start off with the red route, leading to the switch. The funny part is that you'll think you have no way to activate the switch and get out, but since there are instant warps, all you need to do is go left. Then you follow the right part and run into the instant warps on the right that bring you back to the very beginning of the overall section.

The real problem is the final boss. When I manage to get to it, there are a lot of bomb balls that don't let me do anything without losing a powerup or dying.

The final boss is indeed a problem. You have to react to Bowser's movements and the balls at the same time. You need to use the tanooki statue ability to the best.

It is really one of the hardest final bosses, beating it was one of my most fulfilling experiences in SMBX.

Finally after a lot of time, attempts and lives lost I completed the game. Finally. I was going nuts with that final boss.
