I found a relevant bug!

In the level where you are on the treetops...
Where there is the exit...
You can get the leaves that fall from the trees!
Also, if you play multiplayer there are two marios.
And, the second player in the cave level spawns into the ground halfway the level.

Actually, the leaves aren't supposed to be collectable at all. I'll look into it. As for the multiplayer problems, this project wasn't made for two players. Mario is the only playable character, hence why there are two Marios. As for the cave, the weird spawn point is a leftover from the level's original design. But yeah, thanks for the info, Rubber :)

Alright, the bugs have been fixed, and I've decided that, rather than waiting until I finish world 2 completely, I'll finish two more levels, then release a new version with a little less than half of world 2, plus lots of bugfixes and little changes to previous levels, in particular the Hidden Alcove, which now has less frustrating waterfall jumps. I can't say for sure when it'll come, but I'm fairly certain it will be soon #valvetime

I hate to triple post, but I need you guys to know that Demo version 1.5 is out now!
This version adds five levels of World 2, and a couple changes, which can be seen below:

- OVERALL: Midway gates are now replaced by recolored YI Middle Rings
- Talltree Woods: It's no longer possible to collect the leaves in the final section.
-Hidden Alcove: The waterfall puzzle at the end has been changed so it doesn't involve long waterfall jumps anymore.
- Cliffside Climb: the climbing Koopas can now be killed by fireballs
- The split in the path between Dancing Plains and Sunset Shore is now gone, as it was impossible to make it work properly without making yet another level.
- BOSS - Dark Solaris: Is now called The Eclipse. Also has a fancier entrance, and when you defeat him, the remaining Rinkas despawn properly (Thanks to Bossedit8 for pointing out the purpose of the 'Spawned NPC's' layer!)
If you find any bugs not on this list, don't hesitate to let me know!

Side note: the poll has shown that 2/3 of voters don't mind me sticking to one style of pipes and blocks, so it'll stay the same.
Side note #2: It's been proven impossible to transfer a save between different projects without it resulting in some graphical glitches, so the completed episode will come with a 'Demo Save' that puts you at the end of World 2 with 10 stars collected, so you don't have to slog through the first two worlds for the third time!

Wow, I read those two prequel stories, and they really add a lot to the story. I'd love to learn more about the Black Tower and its history!

Indeed, a decent story isn't about dumping loads of exposition on player, but knowing what you can tell him directly and what is better left ambiguous. Also, I have way too much fun dropping hints wherever I go :P

Uh, hi, I'm here to report a mistake? I think it's a mistake. It's in the level in World 1 with all the propellor blocks.

To anyone that has managed to find the hidden easter egg in the demo and is disappointed with what they saw, don't worry, it will be revamped soon. To anyone that hasn't found it, now you know that there is one :P

Stalks in SMB1 are a bit different and I suggest to make the stalk like in that game, because it'd look better.

Like I said, I know the stalk doesn't look good like that, every other stalk in the level's first section has that other stalk BG right below the cap.

1. What kind of Easter Egg is this? A funny one? Scary one? Weird one?
