Thanks a lot! Utopia has seen many alterations since I first started the overall concept, and it will change more than likely a few more times before it is finished, but I am determined to finish this one way or another.
SnifitGuy69 wrote:Can I Beta Test for your project and possibly do an LP?
Yes of course. I don't have much in the way of anything worth testing just yet, but I should have something relatively soon though.

Squishy, I have a great concern
Because your project there are also "challenge modes"?

Oh yes, the Challenge Mode in Utopia is in a similar field as NSMBU, which effectively had the Challenge Mode added after I got a copy of NSMBU and thought it might be a good idea. It will house already existing levels from Utopia with a difficulty increase, coin crawls, avoid enemies etc. I'll implement this as a "world" with completing the current challenge unlocking the next. Completing Challenge Mode is essential for getting a 100% complete game because you are rewarded with a Music Box for each challenge completed.

Looks fairly promising. I'd probably do an LP of it whenever it gets released, but I can't make a 100% promise.

That's completely fine if you want to make one and if you can't or don't that's fine too. I appreciate the comment though. Thanks Syndrilevosse!

1k post of this topic
By the way,I'm posting here again because I want to see your great project. There's a lot of worlds,so if there will be over 180 levels + Challenge Mode, this would be the best episode of the year 201(4 or 5).

I like this episode. It looks pretty cool! Especially the world map looks really great, because I find that the textures really fit well together and do not look strange or inappropriate.

looks like you're using the world map mushrooms i made which got a lot of hate when i relased them because they were so square
Looking good so far, but I'm almost entirely sure that you'll run into some problems regarding the amount of world map textures available.

Hey I've got an idea why don't you add the small world map flowers, same size as the small mushrooms and bushes!

Yeah, I modified them every so slightly, though they still look square, but I quite like them personally. As for the World Map textures, I already have every tile and scenery item completely custom, so this map is going to be 99% Chocolate 1% Vanilla (Water, lava and certain level points being the Vanilla things). All the tiles, except for the Underground and Volcanic tilesets use the same textures as the grassland one shown, the other two use the Chocolate Island and Dark Land tilesets from STTB2, with a few modifications.

I don't know if I can, I think I have already customized all of the scenery GFX, even the run-time error ones.

Did you ask the STTB2 guys if you could use it? I don't think they liked DarkYoshi taking their tiles for New Super Mario Galaxy X.

Really? Thanks for the heads up, I'll see if I can get in contact with them, if not, it'll be back to the drawing board.
BETA TESTERS:
Please note that within the next 2 weeks a small W1 Demo will be sent your way via PM. This episode will not have public Demos, only the final release as I already said on the old forums.

In the screen you posted in the Fire Mario thread, the Berry Blocks need to be recolored. I think they're SMB3 in Super Mario Eternal Chaos, on rpgmaker.net

Sure.

That's funny, those are the Berry Blocks from Eternal Chaos, but in any case they will be recoloured before I release any sort of Demo. Mainly because most levels still have blocks and NPCs (Axes mainly) that need custom GFX to make them invisible. I usually do this as I complete each world so all levels in that completed world have those customs added all at once. It is more efficient that way.

Hey could you please make Utopia's Enemies not a .doc? I can't open it, I don't have Office on my laptop.
Never mind. MS Word Starter 2010 opened it.

A very sad update:
Unfortunately what I had made of Utopia was just not meant to be. Due to one hell of a horrendous hard drive crash, all progress, including the back-up files have been lost completely. Which quite frankly is a shame as a Beta was nearly ready to hit the forums. However, I'll take this as a minor set back. Since all the planning that went into Utopia was all effectively hard copies, I can rebuild Utopia since all I thankfully lost was all of my SMBX data and I had a spare back-up of everything else on my hard drive (mainly graphics, mp3s and what not) on another portable hard drive.
However, with the sad out of the way, I would like to say that Utopia has become a strictly PlatGEnWohl Project. It was in the middle of being completely PlatGEnWohl made and SMBX would, until the PlatGEnWohl engine was up and running be the program to test levels and etc. Also depending on if a Luna.DLL type plugin/extra feature gets added to PGE, Utopia will still use Luna.DLL. The reason for this is to support Wohlstand and the PlatGEWohl Dev Team.
Things that have been changed:
World 0 is reintroduced.
Utopia is now the sequel to Legend of the Ancient Islands (Remastered).
Captain Toad will be playable.
LunaDLL is being used. (No timers though)
Progress was 25%. Progress is now 0%
If you have any questions feel free to ask. Right now, it is back to the drawing board...
