Created for The Mosaic Contest.
I decided to take Birdo's theme based on pink/purple colors. The prototype of this theme was in CC4.
There's no moving layers or typical castle hazards, but level has 2 midbosses.
Lunadll replaces final Birdo with red one which makes it harder.
Red Birdo spits eggs a bit lower, than pink, so I don't recommend to outsit these attacks. not actual
There's also 2 additional stars.
Level was edited after judging.

I reuploaded level with updated autocode. So, Red Birdo is a bit easier now.

You mean you make a joke level nearly 3 years ago just to make this kind of level?
I'm not sure what's the fact there.
But I do love the idea with all of those Birdo enemies by the way.
I think the idea for mini Birdos replacing Snifits is a very original idea.

Lol
I mean another level, not mine.
Mine CC4 entry is too very cool to be prototype.

Well, this was interesting... but I really liked that graphics, and a fun fact: While I was recording, it was my first time, and I said "I bet the boss with be some sort of super birdo" and I was right

This was a good level overall. There could be more powerups since there's three bosses in this level, and the first dragon coin doesn't have a challenge to get to it, but other than that your design and attention to detail is great here.

Desolate Palace of Birdo's Love review
Design & Gameplay: Good
+ Well, mainly this level is quite good. (even tho it has some flawed aspects) I found the NPC placement good too and I'm saying the same about the variety of 'em. The difficulty of the level is fair and medium, I could imagine this as a W3 in a shorter and a W4 dungeon in a mid-length or a longer episode. Even if the secret stars require backtracking, they aren't just a second of hitting a random switch and going backwards, but the player (luckily) needs to do something before being able to reach the star. (like killing all the goombas or jumping on birdo's egg and then hitting the switch) I also found the level having a fair length.
| The level was a little bit but not too much repetitive at some points. I'm also unsure if the backtracking in the propeller block section was that necessary since it's minor and the level's structure doesn't change when you start going up, so it's just 15 seconds of additional gameplay, but I might just be overreacting and this flaw didn't appear anywhere else in the level.
- If the player gets the egg in the boss battle, he/she can just stand in the front of the boss which ends in the boss dying in 4 or 5 seconds. (true picking up the egg is at least a challenge)
Atmosphere & Visuals: Okay
+ I can say that the music fits the level well and it's also good that the level doesn't shove two milion BGOs in the player's face but there isn't lack of 'em either. I didn't find clashy gfx nor cutoffs.
- I found the level too duocolored, since the only colors I saw were purple and pink. The thing that annoyed me the most about that is that you've recolored the coins too, which is quite a bad thing to do since there are only some cases when it's reasonable. (like if the level is a ghost house and the coin is white or if the level is a colorful toybox and the coins have like 2 or 3 different colors)
Score: 6.25/10
An enjoyable level with some troublesome aspects in it
