What exactly is the line between mature content and acceptable content?

I want to know what exactly is defined as mature content and what is defined as acceptable content, and what separates the two. I am asking this because I want to post a story in the Art Board, but it has some brief and pretty vague scenes where some of the characters engage in sexual activity. The actions that happened during said scenes are not at all mentioned, but I want to make sure it is okay if I can post them.

The general consensus with the staff that if you have to ask, it's probably a no/too inappropriate. We don't promote explicit/NSFW content, as we're a family friendly community and we want to keep it that way. Sorry about that.
