Does anybody have good tutorials for beginners?

Postby CheesyYoY » Sat Aug 11, 2018 7:52 pm

I just started making levels instead of sprites and I can't find anything for SMBX 2.0, like making better levels or making paths in the world maker, or how to make an episode in general. Does anyone have any links?

there are a few stickied topics in Help & Support, plus Aristo's "big compilation of level design" in Levels

I believe in three 72 mm large, 690 g heavy iron balls as my lords and saviours.

It's not worth to use the legacy editor anymore these days. Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why.

This isn't specifically about SMBX, but Mark Brown's video on Mario level design is a good place to start.

As for SMBX itself, the best way to learn is to play a lot of levels and episodes for yourself and take cues from how they're designed to learn what works and what doesn't, and what you would enjoy making.
I shall return with a new episode...... soon.

theres not really an easy way to make good levels, as one person could think that a design style is great, while the other one could think its absolutely awful. alot of it is subjective. you kinda have to get experienced with what people enjoy and what tends to work better to make better level
I believe in Waluigi as my Lord and Saviour. If you do too, put this in your signature!
