We joked about Beta 4 being cancelled in codehaus but in all seriousness we're not stopping or slowing down development in response to MM2. I'm on mobile atm so I'll let someone else elaborate further.
Some people just cannot avoid the ads on MediaFire, even with both common sense and popup blockers. It's always a good idea to provide an alternate download link with an ad-free file host such as Dropbox or Google Drive.
I do music, graphics, lua, birthdays, bachelor parties, bar mitzvahs, long walks on the beach, driving through the scenic countryside with my fabulous mutlicolored mustache flowing in the wind, living life on the edge and not playing by the rules, awkwardly standing in the corner of the room with my GBC during important company meetings, all my own stunts and baking cookies with criminally-high quantities of butter

This is absolutely incredible. The original Super Mario Maker was absolutely amazing, but now we have been shown some amazing (and totally unexpected) new elements for use in the game!!! Even better, it's coming out in JUNE!
If MM was gonna come to Switch, i was honestly expecting either a port or just a few minor additions. But damn, they have done so much more than that! New themes, new items, a quite literal infinite number of possible new levels - i actually cannot wait for this game to come out. Definitely gonna be my #1 game of 2019.
SMBX definitely won't be dying due to SMM2 coming out, though. There are still features here that won't be available there (custom graphics and scripting are the most obvious differences). I'm not gonna throw away 1.5 years of work on my project, either.
However, I may - and most likely will - put SMBX to the side for a while after SMM2 comes out, and i'd even go as far as to quitting Fortnite entirely, too (which is the only game i play on Switch right now anyway). I loved the original and now i'm absolutely gonna love the hell out of the sequel. I cannot wait to see more teasers of the game, and i'll look forward to the release!

They probably showcased slopes first for a specific reason
But in all honesty, I think that this game will become very popular in a short amount of time due to the fact that it has so much capability, especially with things like the Snake Blocks, clear pipes, and other such things. I also like the fact that they added snow levels to the game.
It doesn't matter how much base content they add to Mario Maker 2; SMBX remains more accessible (in terms of price and by virtue of being on PC) and customizable (lua & custom GFX). I'm gonna pick it up and have my fair share of fun with it, no doubt, but SMBX has a fundamental advantage in allowing for custom GFX and music.

Indeed, man. Who else is anticipated for the SM3... sorry, SM2DWorld gfx in SMM2? I'm like it fills the purpose of having a nintendo switch already

Have you all know? Nintendo just showcased the beta version of the Mario Maker 2.
Honestly, I think this will have a great impact on the community to SMBX, some people are going to leave SMBX for the Mario Maker 2, and I don't think SMBX is still as competitive as before.
I decided to share my feelings toward SMBX, and hopefully, encourage our community to support SMBX as well.
SMBX has really declined a lot, starting from Redigit's C&D from Nintendo back when it is first released. Then we lost quite a feel important members in our community :
Valtteri, with no trace of him. Quill, saying that he would become less active. Ignoritus, only in Talkhouse.Joey, who knows. Horikawa, declined to be a judge in the future MAGLXs
At the same time, we still have some powerful people that can turn things around: Bossedit8, well his YT channel is still active. Shimbison, is a good level maker. Knux, still making SMBX Classic. Enji, still making 2.0 stuff. Raocow, making amazing LPs in the past.
And more importantly, ourselves.
Lemme me explain everything about this "Declining".
First, the MAGLX3 is as silent as ever.
Second, the monthly news is long gone since November.
Third, look at the episode forum and only some of it is actually good.
Lemme me explain what has Nintendo done for its Mario Maker 2 :
1. More tilesets and background ( Theme ) choices.
2. Added Super Mario 3D World choices.
3. More NPCs and behaviors.
4. Oh my god! Slopes!
Although Nintendo will have these fancy brand new mechanics upcoming for June, there still few things that we are winning it.
1. Details of the level.
2. Programming for SMBX 2.0
3. People that are actually good at making good levels.
4. More games besides platforming.
5. Most important;y, it is the community.
We have the strongest community among all. We provide help and support each other. We criticize and improve each other. We collect the best levels/bosses among us. We share the same thoughts concerning our situation. We have 12 SMBX Community Contest and 2 Make a good level contest, and how much did Nintendo even host a level contest? - None!
We must understand our current situation as an SMBX Community, the only way to outshine Nintendo. We must fight for ourselves, as a whole!
Anyone that wants to share their thought please comment below.
