Why did they get deleted?

This is related to the deep history of SMBX' old days. Before this forum was created, the community existed at three different forums, which were basically merged into a new official one (vaguely expressed). Just a hint:
Knux wrote:The SMBX Council formed in late 2013 for the intended purpose of discussing and merging all the SMBX forums (three in total, two in which were practically identical).
This idea made a lot of sense at the time because myself, reghrhre and Cloud (of his SMBX sub-forums) were all very on-edge with one another. The truth is, all three of us believed in the same rule system, and strongly detested Kyasarin Rule, but we just didn’t get on well. This seemed highly beneficial at the time for everyone.

Joey was involved, and offered to host a new site. As he started to gain members, he started to change things. One particular change was the decision not to include Cloud as a prominent staff member, despite assurance that all the staff members would keep their administrative powers, and essentially ridding of him completely. Cloud eventually opted out but Reghrhre couldn’t by this point, and neither could I. On New Year’s Day, 2014, I deleted Joey’s forum in an attempt to undo his attempt at bringing back Kyasarin Rule, but failed and had virtually all my credibility by this point diminished.

Still using the legacy editor? Get SMBX2 and PGE, it will improve your experience significantly. Here's why. And remember, Yoshi's are tools to be used and discarded.

Oh okay, thank you for the fact, but what is the forum's page limit here?

Theoretically a thread can have arbitrarily many pages (I don't know anything about resources). In this place threads are also archived and restarted after 100 pages (which takes a long time ever since pages contain 20 posts, plus an exception was made on the SMBX2 Beta3 thread)

Ok, here's an obvious fact:

Site Discussion has the least amount of topics as of now.

Both Site Discussion and LunaLua Help are reiterations of former subforums which can be found in Archives -> Archived Forums. Have you seen them?

Most of the ranks we use today originated from Beetlebailey's forum, a little known fact.

Here's a interesting, and fun SMBX forums fact:

Until late 2017 or so, nobody* in the community had tried "Outside the box" thinking on custom graphics other than the 16-bit All Stars versions of SMB1/SMB: The Lost Levels, SMB2 USA, SMB3, and SMW graphics styles with custom graphics UNTIL I showcase some custom sprites & graphics made with SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis colors.

*Might be wrong about that!

I remember making levels with completely custom graphics in 2012...
Please do not use any of my assets (graphics, scripts) in works affiliated with the Novaverse. This applies to the original releases of those assets as well as any third-party variations (recolours, script alterations). Thank you.

Oh, then I'm truly NOT the first guy who tried original custom GFX in SMBX....
