SMBX forever.

SMM has no custom graphics, nuff said

SMBX and Mario Maker are inherently incomparable since they are way too different in both execution and system of building;
If we want to talk about PC fangames about mario making engines, then definitely stuff like SMBX (2.0 specifically) or Gatete's engine get on top
as for official games, then i mean, Mario Maker 2 is right around the corner

yeah thank you ! i Love it too and i prefer it .

I prefer SMBX, just for the MOAR variety* over Super Mario Maker.

*Even though the fan game itself has some bit of variety, unlike some of the other Super Mario fan games with level editors imo

SMBX is better than Mario Maker, it has a lot of features that SMM doesn't, like custom graphics, custom music, scripting, worldmaps, etc...

Though I really enjoy Mario Editor, which is another fangame for PC

Super Mario Maker makes sense as a better Mario editor for the casual or inexperienced users, it's more simple, has funny little secrets and references, and has a much easier way to find levels.
SMBX has a lot more, and as Cedur said, custom graphics, but its editor can be confusing for first time users. Personally, I like SMBX more, it keeps me more entertained, and with 1.4 and SMBX2, you can do even more with this application.

Even after 4 Years, we still have the debate if SMBX or MM is better?
Obviously, people will respond with SMBX because Custom blabla etc.

Does anyone here, actually know about Mario Multiverse?

More than 4 million copies of smm have been sold so obviously it's doing pretty good. Not sure how smbx is better. I like smbx but from a serious stand point nobody can honestly say smbx is better.

This argument is pointless and has been done like a dozen times now.

They're both great games on their own, but to compare them is just plain stupid because they're on different platforms all together

Smbx, you can do lots of things with it!
