How do you create infinite platforms?

The question is simple how do you make the SMB1 elevators/platforms go on forever because whenever I try to do it the elevator works but doesn't stay there. If someone knows how to make it infinite please tell me.

you can place a generator on the top/bottom of the screen. just check the box that says "generator" in the npc properties and you'll be able to select up/down and the generator interval. also, in this case it's best to use the type "warp".
